Bastion fielded early Lifeline armored-ambulance prototypes to partner CASEVAC training detachments in October 2022, as European forces refreshed medical plans for high-intensity conflict.
The vehicles were not deployed as Bastion-crewed ambulances in a theater of war. They were training and evaluation assets: litter drills, en-route trauma layouts, blackout lighting, and convoy integration with protected mobility escorts.
Medics asked for faster litter rail changes and better inverter power for monitors—feedback that shaped the production MA-12 interior released later.
Company communications stressed a simple point: “Protecting people sometimes means protecting the ambulance that reaches them.”
