In June 2021 Bastion Defense Systems announced a teaming agreement with Torqwerk AG focused on cross-drive transmissions, final drives, and matched torque paths for heavy armored vehicles and custom hulls.
Bastion brought vehicle integration, arctic packages, and exportable maintenance trainers; Torqwerk contributed transmission architecture and series-production discipline from the commercial and defense driveline world.
The partnership was an early signal that Bastion would not invent every gearbox in Zurich. Matched motor–transmission sets later became the spine of the DT-900 DriveTrain suite.
Joint engineering reviews in 2021–2022 fixed interface control documents still used on Vanguard and Pathfinder mobility kits.
